Central and South Asia
Find out who we're partners with in Central and South Asia and how we're working together on research, global mobility and teaching.
Partner highlight: Tata Institute of Social Sciences
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Βι¶ΉΣ³» share an institutional focus and expertise in Development, and staff regularly travel in both directions.
Together we made a successful £30K , to run a Study in India programme in 2020, combining faculty expertise to develop a unique programme ‘Intersectional Inequalities: migration, sexualities and gender’. Though the programme was sadly curtailed by the pandemic, some students took part in a virtual alternative on contemporary India delivered by TISS faculty.
We were delighted that 2020 also saw Russell Whiting, Head of Social Work and Social Care, contribute a lecture to the TISS International Webinar Series on Mahatma Gandhi, exploring the concept of Gandhian social work in a UK context. We continue to build opportunities for our staff and students to engage including through participation in our Junior Research Associates scheme.
