Summer teaching

In this module, you conduct research for a 10,000-word project on a topic in either international business economics or business economics.

You choose your project topic from a set of approved topics provided by faculty and your project is assessed on the basis of:

  • the relevance of the research question investigated
  • applied work undertaken including the collection and preparation of data, the formulation of the empirical model, the estimation and interpretation of the results, and the quality of the write-up.

Assessment

100%: Written assessment (Dissertation)

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 300 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
