Biography

I was at Oxford as an undergraduate and a postgraduate (with a brief spell as a school-teacher between the two) - initially at Exeter College, before being elected to a RankÌýXerox Senior Scholarship at Oriel College.
I came to Â鶹ӳ» as a Lecturer in Philosophy in 1985. I held various positions in Philosophy, in different Schools (as Â鶹ӳ»'s organizational structure changed over the years), and in the University, before retiring as Professor of Philosophy at the height of the Covid time, at the end of 2020. I was President of the Mind Association for 2020-21.
