Welcome to the SeNSS Doctoral Training Partnership at the Â鶹ӳ»­.

The (SeNSS) is a Doctoral Training  Partnership funded by the (ESRC) consisting of 10 partner Universities:  ; a;  (lead institution); ; ; ; ; ;  and the Â鶹ӳ»­.

As a SeNSS postgraduate researcher at Â鶹ӳ»­, you have access to:

  • Subject specific training and wider professional development (including online social research methods training) 
  • A funded three-month placement outside academia – two deadlines for applications per year 
  • A scholarship (covering feed, a living allowance and research expenses) for a minmum of 3 years - or 4 years for  a Masters+PhD programme.

You'll also have access to additional funding, for a variety of costs:

  • Research and training costs (for conferences, participant costs, UK fieldwork)
  • Overseas fieldwork
  • Language training (Difficult Language Training, or DLT, which can extend to your scholarship)
  • Spending time at a university or research institute abroad if you apply to and are successful for an Overseas Institutional Visit (OIV).
