Choose a designer to work with
Creative work is achieved best as a partnership, rather than as a set of items to be delivered. Find out how best to work with creative suppliers and learn about the skills they bring to Â鶹ӳ».
Before you commission creative work
Find out what to do first.
- How to get started
The first thing you need to do is chat to the Digital and Creative Media team, who can help you decide the best creative and channel mix to fit your plan. The best way to do that is to fill in our new creative project briefing form. This will come through to the Digital and Creative Media team.
You can get the best help from the Digital and Creative Media team by sharing information about the project early on. The whole team will then be better able to support the project, for example, by helping you publish content or get branding approval.
Contact us if you have any questions about briefing creative work or deciding whether you need to write a brief: dcm@sussex.ac.uk
- Marketing plans and planned projects
If you’re based in a School at Â鶹ӳ», you’ll need to make sure that your planned materials fit into the Schools marketing plan. Check in with your Marketing Manager before commissioning creative work.
If you are in Brighton and Â鶹ӳ» Medical School, Institute of Development Studies, Â鶹ӳ» Estates and Facilities or Â鶹ӳ» Innovation Centre, in the first instance you should contact your marketing/communications team.

The team at Door 22 is led by Emma Nicol. Emma will be your first and dedicated contact whatever your University project.
As a small team, we are always happy to help with projects of all shapes and sizes. We can assist in the briefing process at the start of the project if your idea needs some input. We seem to relish a slightly awkward project that needs a bit of a different approach, whether that’s a tight deadline or an innovative solution. We are used to discovering the missing pieces and joining the dots so don’t feel as though a brief needs to be a beautifully finalised manuscript, let's have a chat about it.
Door 22 is an innovative creative studio who will be on hand to bring your projects to life. We love to help develop a campaign idea or a new communication initiative. We can bring a chunky brochure to life faithfully on-brand but we also like to be bold and fun if given half the chance. We are equally comfortable updating existing material or creating brand new work.
We've been doing what we do for over 20 years now so we are a trusted pair of hands. Brand, print design, editorial and campaign style projects are our main bag as well as large format exhibition work and data visualisation. We can also art direct for any projects that need the commissioning of photography.

- About GOOD
GOOD was established almost 30 years ago with a vision to help organisations create a better world. Today, we continue to be an independent purpose-driven agency delivering strategy and creative services to some of the world’s largest brands and charities.
We are driven by our passion to use brilliant communication to create positive social and environmental change. Our work has helped fundraise over £1.5 billion for charities and higher education organisations, and has transformed international businesses through Purpose. We are an employee-owned company and take pride in being the UK’s highest-ranking B-Corp creative agency.
We have delivered international alumni fundraising campaigns for leading Universities, rebranded international charities and commercial brands to reach new audiences, and delivered brand building campaigns across sectors. Our design team works across print and digital to create bespoke assets.
GOOD offers clients two-fold creative services that flex to meet their unique creative requirements through our Integrated and Studio offers.
Integrated: We are experts in creating single, unifying creative concepts and integrated campaigns based on audience-led insights and strategy. These briefs involve a full Agency team across account management, planning, creative and a truly integrated process from brief to execution.
Studio: On the other hand, our bespoke ‘Studio’ offer enables quick-turnaround content that is task-led and channel specific. For smaller briefs we offer clients the opportunity to go 'straight-to-studio’ via quick-turnaround content that’s task-led and channel specific. For these briefs, we utilise a leaner agency team involving a project manager straight to creative.
We work with charities, non-profits and higher education institutions to maximise their positive impact on the world through fundraising and brand campaigns, by recruiting and actively engaging supporters and creating new longer-term sustainable income streams.
We also have a dedicated team of brand and design experts who work with commercial brands and charities to develop strategy, visual identities and messaging that align with their organisation’s purpose, values and mission. From brand audits and strategic positioning to logo design and brand guidelines, we can help you build a strong brand that stands out in a crowded market.GOOD also work with clients across print and digital, so can help you across both mediums from social campaigns and website development to print/digital brochures and mailers.
