Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
Wednesday 8th June (14.00 - 16.30) - Tower 3, The Attenborough Centre
Come along to watch Βι¶ΉΣ³» doctoral researchers compete for great prizes and a place in the UK semi-final of Three Minute Thesis (3MT), an academic competition that challenges doctoral researchers to describe their research in just 3 minutes.
12 doctoral researchers at Βι¶ΉΣ³» have taken up the challenge and are in with the chance of winning:
- 1st Prize: up to £1000 travel expenses towards an international conference (NB: payment will be in the form of reimbursement)
- Runner Up: iPad Air Wi-FI
- Peoples’ Choice Award: iPad mini
All those taking part in the competition will have their presentations filmed and uploaded to the University website, and the winner of the University competition will receive a place in the UK Semi Final of the 3 Minute Thesis, with a chance to go to the UK Final.

Organised by the Research Quality and Impact team, Βι¶ΉΣ³» Impact Day is an annual day of activities designed to support impact and to share impact knowledge. The Βι¶ΉΣ³» Impact Day is followed by the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Impact Awards which celebrates outstanding impact.

Offering a range of workshops and activities designed to support and develop research impact across the University, there are four strands of sessions running in parrallel across the day. These strands are:
- Impact in the REF
- Techniques for impact
- Domains of impact
- Impact for doctoral and early career researchers and anyone new to impact
