Module 899H1
Module details for 2025/26.
15 credits
FHEQ Level 7 (Masters)
Module Outline
Human anatomy is a fundamental discipline within medical sciences and informs on the morphological composition necessary to execute biological functions. In this module, you will develop an understanding of the structure and function of human body systems at a macroscopic and microscopic level, through a problem-based approach, supported by a series of seminars, workshops, and laboratory practicals. You will have the opportunity to study anatomy using donated human material at Brighton and Â鶹ӳ» Medical School.  During the course, you will develop a well-rounded understanding of the human body and have the necessary skills required in biomedical engineering.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of basic anatomical and medical terminology
Confidently describe the structural and functional components of the major human body systems and tissue types. (M1, M2)
Critically analyse and discuss concepts in musculoskeletal biomechanics
Demonstrate independence and originality in the application of anatomical knowledge to specific biomedical scenarios
